Garden Roses

This small piece, I was really focused on pigment transparency. Using oil or solvent to thin the paint allows light to bounce off the white canvas and passes light through the layer of paint.

I did this with the background as well as folds in the petals where light was being bent in just the right way to make them appear to glow. 💡
